Biography

Finn Perelstein is a 22-year-old investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Bulgaria. His work spans conflict zones, corruption investigations, and youth-led activism. At 19, Finn began reporting from Israel, the Israeli-occupied West Bank, and East Jerusalem, where he directed Love Your Neighbor, a documentary exploring apartheid and peacemaking in Palestine. The film has been screened globally, from UNESCO’s World Without Anger conference in Kathmandu to universities in New York and across Europe. As a student at the American University in Bulgaria, Finn studied Political Science and Political Journalism through Documentary while leading the More Honors filmmaking collective, where he co-directed and edited over a dozen short films. At 21, he began working as an investigative journalist in Bulgaria, uncovering multinational corruption in the energy sector across the Balkans, Turkey, and Western Europe. Finn is currently a residential Fellow of the Christo Grozev Fellowship for Courageous Journalism at the Center for Information Democracy and Citizenship (CIDC), where he is expanding his work on cross-border investigative reporting. He continues to focus on stories that confront injustice and elevate voices on the margins.
